The difference between registered and unregistered providers is an area that’s often misunderstood – and you might be missing out on some amazing supports as a result.
Despite not being registered with the NDIS, many unregistered providers are highly skilled, passionate and dedicated to making life better for people with a disability.
For NDIS participants, the main difference is that you can only access an unregistered provider if your NDIS plan is Plan Managed or Self Managed. Whereas if you are NDIA Managed, your options are restricted and you can only access NDIS registered providers.
As an Unregistered provider, we will send our invoice to the client as normal. It is then up to the client to manually claim the funds back from the NDIS, using the NDIS portal or if Plan Managed, the Plan Manager can do this.
So just like any registered provider, as an unregistered provider, we can provide services which are fully funded by the NDIS.
